Emo Generation (Part 2)

Emo.
The three letter word that has been all the rage all over the world in just one glimpse of time. It turned into a generation that most teenagers belong to. This fashion, trend or even a culture influenced dramatically the way teenagers used to live and act. From the one-sided hair and black clothing, emos tend to create a new generation of people particularly teens. Up to now, it still applies to most population and may continue in the future.
Emo Culture as a Controversy
Emo culture has been a controversial topic among teen debates and forumers all over the internet. They refer emos as "posers." Posers which stole certain ideas from other groups to make up on their on like goths, melodramas and mostly rockers. It is really obvious why rockers really react to the growth spurt of emo generation. Rock music is always the essentail part in creationg em music. It is also the inspiration of creating the said generation, only adding up some sad tunes and lyrics to the songs.
Another, parents are worried about their sons and daughter's addiction to the emo culture.
What's the reason behind this?
1.) Emo Generation portrays a culture of merely pure young suicide. This is actually not true. It is just an overacted understanding on why emo has been there. Are emos to commit suicide? Of course not. Most of the emo songs maybe talking about young teenage suicide but lyrics are just lyrics. No personal imitation of emo people had been done through those songs. The songs just helps the emo generation to just focus on their realization and focus on their very own agenda.
2.) It attracts the youth to be social prisoners.
False. When you come to think about it. Emos tend to find their needs on other people especially on emos too. They are not to be regarded as social prisoners because the are not. It is just another misunderstanding onn their world they are trying to build. Let them have freedom and happiness. There is always the freedom of expression.

I wouldn't consider EMO as a trend, or fasion. When EMO became a word, it just explained me to myself. I normally wore dark clothes, didn't really like to talk too much or laugh, and liked to have long hair, but now I can have a certain style to go with so I'm finally starting to get noticed! So, thanks to whoever made the word EMO!
I wish people learned to spell and write correctly before they made articles online.
Emo kids are always asking why people don't like them and looking up articles and information about their so-called "subculture". They seem to be obsessed with identity to the point where it seems more like conformity than individuality. In fact. a lot of the time they look like clones, sometimes you're lucky if you can tell apart a girl emo kid from a male one. I think the reason why they have to research their "Scene" so much is because they are new to it and want to be a perfect example of their lifestyle so that they can fit in to their trend.
I wonder if the new emo kids from early 2000 even know what pre-trendy old school emo used to look and sound like. The Emo culture that the big businesses didn't know would be profitable to market to.
I wonder if they know about certain bands they praise like Panic At the Disco who want to dissociate themselves with emo because the band thinks the "emo movement" is retarded.
They take a lot of photos of themselves on myspace and seem to be somewhat narcissistic and egomaniacal. Especially the ones who call themselves "scene kids".

@Casey ; the reason why emo kids look up articles about 'emo' is not because they want to assure themselves , I look this kind of stuff up because I find it to be intreging how wrong people are over the emo subculture ... I don't think people can judge about us or just all other sorts of subcultures unless they're in them ...

I'm 25 and used to be into all this Emo stuff, although all this hair straightening is new, Emo music actually started from hardcore punk in the 80's and the only real difference between emo music then and punk was the lyrics so this music is nothing truly new. Its had a lot of different twists and turns while its been about and now has some how mutated from its first change into soft acoustic sounding music into screamo. I think kids just want to show that their generation is different to their parents one. While growing up you hear so much about the 60's and how exciting it all was that there is no way a teenager doesn't want to try and recreate that excitement from themselves and their peers. No one wants to miss out on an exciting time.

To whom it may concern,
Hi, I am 22 years old. Like every other teenager on this planet I also went through strange emotions and listened to sad songs. I had no identity, but luckely I grew up and saw the world differently. All I would like to know about your EMO GENERATION, where does God fit in? Since I gave my heart to the Lord, everthing changed!! And yes, I understand what teenagers go through, but this EMO is not helping them, it is like tying a rock to their feet while they have to enjoy their lives and to be strong and not to fall into depression...how can something so sad help a teenager???
I would like to have more information about this emo
